**Easy Chewy Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies

(Fed Starter + Salted Butter)**

Ingredients (18–20 cookies)

  • ¾ cup fed sourdough starter (active, bubbly, room temp or cold is fine)

  • ¾ cup (1½ sticks) unsalted butter, melted & cooled slightly

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1½–2 cups chocolate chips or chunks

  • Optional: flaky sea salt

Instructions

1. Mix wet ingredients

  • Whisk melted butter + sugars until glossy.

  • Whisk in egg, vanilla, and fed starter until smooth.

2. Add dry ingredients

  • Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt just until combined.

3. Fold in chocolate

  • Don’t overmix — stop once incorporated.

4. Chill (important but easy)

  • Chill dough 30–60 minutes
    (Longer = thicker cookies, but not required)

5. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F

  • Scoop 2–3 tbsp dough balls

  • Bake 10–12 minutes

  • Centers should look slightly underdone

6. Cool

  • Let cool on pan 10 minutes

  • Sprinkle flaky salt if using

Baking Instructions

  • Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes

  • Pull while centers look soft

  • They finish setting as they cool
